Shubham Thakare

Shubham is a Senior Manager at Vasudha Foundation, where he co-leads efforts to develop decarbonisation strategies for India’s energy sector. With more than six years of experience in energy modeling, he has contributed to key reports, including India’s Electricity Demand Projections, Managing Peak Electricity Demand, and state- and district-level decarbonisation plans. His expertise spans long-term energy planning and electricity sector decarbonisation. He is well-versed in energy modeling tools such as PyPSA and TIMES-MARKAL, developing energy models across various spatial horizons. Shubham holds a master’s degree in renewable energy from TERI School of Advanced Studies.

He has a strong interest in breakthrough technologies for climate mitigation, energy transition modeling, and carbon markets.
