R K Prabhavathy

Founder Trustee

Prabha has a masters degree in mathematics and is currently working as a banker. She is associated with Vasudha Foundation as a Founding Trustee Member and also advises the organisation on financial and banking matters.

Srinivas Krishnaswamy

Founder Trustee and Chief Functionary(CEO)

Srinivas Krishnaswamy, an economist by training, has over a decade of experience working on the issues of economic reforms, sustainable development and the environment. He set up Vasudha Foundation in January 2010, with an aim to promote environment -friendly, socially just and sustainable models of development by focusing on alternative technologies and lifestyle solutions. The foundation is currently working on a wide range of projects around renewable energy, energy efficiency and policy related campaigns, and lobbies both at the national and international level, while promoting green and alternative technologies at the grassroots level creating the crucial link between energy and poverty alleviationIn a short span of four years, Srinivas helped steer Vasudha Foundation in implementing a wide range of projects that include facilitating a few states in the preparation of their State Climate Action Plans, preparing a detailed institutional strengthening plan for the nodal agency implementing the State Climate Action Plan of Madhya Pradesh, which has been accepted by the Madhya Pradesh Government and is being implemented.

V. Subramanian

IAS (Retd), Secretary General, Indian Wind Energy Association

Shri. V. Subramanian retired from the Indian Administrative Service from the post of Secretary to the Government in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. He has a rich and varied experience in Finance, Aviation, Tourism, Power and Labour. Subramanian advices and mentors the Renewable Energy and Energy Access Programmes of Vasudha Foundation.

Raman Mehta

Ex-officio – Programme Director

Raman Mehta has worked on different facets of sustainable development, climate change and natural resources management during his career. He currently focusses on issues relating to equity in the context of climate change, integration of climate change concerns into development strategies, plans and programmes in India, and how to overcome barriers in accelerating the deployment of renewable energy sources in the country. In the past, he has worked in the Indian Institute of Public Administration, World Wide Fund for Nature – India, ActionAid – India and the British High Commission/Department for International Development. He has been involved in several research efforts and has a long list of reports and publications to his credit.

Nambi Appadurai

Dr. Nambi Appadurai currently serves as the Director & Strategy Head of the Climate Resilience Practice of World Resources Institute (WRI) India. His experience in the social development sector spans over two decades. His professional experience and interests intersects the areas of sustainable development, natural resources management, climate risk management, resilience and environmental policy. Dr. Nambi has a wide range of research and project management experience at the international, national and sub-national levels. Most of his work is focused on building community-based resilience to climate change in the Asian and African contexts.
His international career includes stints with the World Bank, United Nations Environment Program, Asian Development Bank and the Consultative Group on International Agriculture Research (CGIAR). He served as the Director of the Climate change program at the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation before joining WRI. In the past, Dr. Nambi served as a member of the Official Indian delegation to UNFCCC Conference of Parties’ meetings and represented India in climate negotiations. He served as an expert member of several scientific committees constituted by various Ministries of Government of India and State governments. He has also served as a reviewer for the IPCC Assessment reports. He currently serves as an expert member of the high-level advisory committee constituted by the Chief-minister of Tamil Nādu to mitigate floods in Chennai and the chair of the Advisory committee of the GEF Small Grants Program.
He has a doctoral degree in Public Policy from the Maxwell school of Citizenship & Public Affairs of Syracuse University, New York and two post-graduate degrees one in Development Studies from Cambridge University, U.K and the other in Public Management from University of Madras. He is a member of many professional associations and has published widely on development and environmental issues and won several awards in the fields of social research and environment.
