Stakeholder Consultation on Energy Transition in the State of Chhattisgarh

Vasudha Foundation, in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA), organised a stakeholder consultation today to address the opportunities and challenges of energy transition in Chhattisgarh.

The event witnessed the participation of senior officials and industry experts, focusing on renewable energy integration, energy storage technologies, and demand-side management as key enablers of the state’s energy transition.

Shri Rajesh Singh Rana, IAS, Chairperson of CREDA, delivered a special address, emphasising the progress made by Chhattisgarh in renewable energy integration and highlighting the state’s investor-friendly framework for renewable energy projects. Shri Hemant Verma from the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) discussed the importance of energy storage technologies and demand-side management for navigating the state’s transition. Shri Sanjiv Kumar Katiyar, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), highlighted the rapid growth in the adoption of renewable energy and the critical role of pumped storage systems in maintaining grid stability.

The panel discussion explored various aspects of renewable energy integration, advanced technologies, demand-side management, and collaborative strategies to drive energy transition. Experts presented innovative solutions to support Chhattisgarh in achieving its renewable energy goals.

Presentation of India Climate and Energy Dashboard

Vasudha Foundation showcased the India Climate and Energy Dashboard (ICED), developed in collaboration with NITI Aayog, providing insights into Chhattisgarh’s energy transition landscape. The presentation highlighted opportunities and challenges, offering a roadmap for sustainable energy solutions in the state.

This consultation marks an important step toward fostering collaboration among stakeholders and advancing Chhattisgarh’s journey towards a clean and sustainable energy future.
