Suman Kumar

Suman Kumar is a GIS Officer at the Vasudha Foundation in New Delhi, India. He analyses geospatial data, extracting necessary spatial and non-spatial datasets using Python and JavaScript, performs image classification for land use mapping, change detection, and WebGIS development for different projects.

Suman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata. Before joining the Vasudha Foundation, he worked at CSIR-Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (GoI), Deoghar Municipal Corporation, CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute Nagpur and ISRO-National Remote Sensing Centre Hyderabad. In these roles, he contributed to a wide range of projects involving climate data analytics, digital image processing, Web development, urban microclimate studies, air quality modelling and climate change studies.
Suman’s primary interests are in data analysis, AI/ML, remote sensing, GIS, open-source tools, Web GIS development, urban environmental studies, air quality, and environmental modelling.
