The paper examines the data gaps in existing land use and land use change data available from official sources.  In addition, a sensitivity analysis of selected states for deriving activity data through independent GIS analysis is also conducted under this study.  Further, the paper also discusses the necessity of greater academic work required for more comprehensive country (state/region/agro-climatic) specific emission factors for India.
